What started as (and came back to) an online comic, became a miniseries of 5 print comics between 1999 and 2004. The first issue was self-published while the next three were distributed via a publisher who managed to withold all profits from Steph Dumais, despite the creator paying for production. Fortunately, a number of issues remained with Steph for direct online sales. Also, no such treachery surrounded the publishing of the 96 page issue 5, for Frightworld Studios not only financed it, but also went of of their way to produce a full blown graphic novel which they properly promoted and distributed (unlike the previous publisher) AND paid the creator. Indy publishing is full of stories like this, but what makes it all worth it are the people who support these comics.
